About the Event
Chair yoga is a wonderful practice because it allows all people, no matter your physical cabilities, to participate. I often hear people say that they can't do many things in a regular yoga class because they can't be on their wrists, or their knees hurt, or they lack the flexibility that many teachers ask of them, or they have a hard time getting up and down from the floor. Well this class is for you! Of course, this class is also great for people who work at desk jobs as you can learn different stretches to do in your chair so that you have less aches and pains from sitting at a screen all day!
All you'll need is a solid chair without arms for this practice! This class is for literally EVERYONE! Completely inclusive. The workshop is 90 minutes. I will use the first few minutes to chat with students and give them time to ask questions and describe any physical injuries or limitations they have, so that I can adequately teach to all present. We will then start with some breathing practices and move through a series of postures on the chair. There will be no sitting on the ground, no getting up and down, and no impact on the hands or knees.
I believe that yoga can and should be accessible to everyone! So if you've been scared to try yoga because you think you're not flexible or mobile enough, then please join me and you'll see that you too can practice yoga!
